I just asked Plaion on their website if they might include the Korean Atmos Track and if they could consider english subtitles on the 4K Disc alone, since nobody else in the World seems to have any interest in publishing a 4K. I'll give a response if I hear anything.

It'll probably get an English friendly 4K in Korea, but they usually take their time (Parasite's happened a year after the rest of the world released it).

My estimate for Plain-Archive's 4K release is February next year, if the release schedule for Parasite is anything to go by. And it'll be very limited again!

Kind of weird that the cover has the Oscar logo with Best International Film under it since it did not get nominated. But then "Official South Korea entry" under that so technically it's not wrong.

Leider dürfen englische Untertitel nur in den Gebieten verwendet werden, die tatsächlich englischsprachig sind, darum ist es uns komplett verboten.
Da können wir auch leider nichts machen.

Zur Abmischung können wir leider noch nichts sagen, da es hier noch keine finale Aussage zu gibt. Danke für das Verständnis!

Seems weird that CJ would give the okay on this when they're hesitant on releasing it in the same format on home turf

I just got an answer from Plaion for the question if the Movie will have Dolby Atmos for the Korean original dub and she replied with a, YES! It will have Dolby Atmos on both the normal Blu-Ray and the 4k-UHD. Best news of the week, if truly true!

I got my Cover B today and can report some good news.

First of all, this being a Plaion release it looks very good in DV.
I believe the film had a very fine layer of digital grain applied and that renders as it should..
Disc is a BD-100 with Korean Dolby Atmos! Unfortunately, as previously known, there are NO English subtitles, not even hidden ones. I checked with my Panasonic remote.

That means this release will only be of merit for English speakers if you attempt a remux.
PQ and AQ should be definitive for those interested.

The film was indeed licensed by CJ ENM Co. and Moho Film according to the cover.

Yes, it seems to be just Capelight that throws us a bone every so often with including English subtitles.
