Default PS3 Automatically play movie when....

You switch from AV1 (Cable) to HDMI 1 (ps3) after you inserted Blu-ray in while watching TV on AV1? I noticed that my ps3 intend wait for me to switch TV output to HDMI1 then it will automatically play blu ray disc and show previews even if i inserted movie 10 mins ago. PS3 will not play movie until i switch to hdmi. Damn blu-ray.com for keeping me 10 mins here lol..

Does your ps3 do that? Sorry if there were thread about it, i tried find it first and i didnt.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say either.

You can turn off Auto-play from the BD options menu, if that's what you're asking about.

i dont mind the autoplay, i just liked it when ps3 wait for me to switch other output where hdmi is hooked so i dont miss no preview or whatsoever on disc while im on other channel.

i thought autoplay will only autoplay everytime disc are inserted whether im on hdmi output or not. but my ps3 doesnt do autoplay while im on other output which was cool for it to wait for me to watch blu-ray.

I think that has happened to me but I'd have to test it again to be sure. I still forget to change the input occasionally but I turned off autoplay a long while back so that's why I'm not sure anymore.

Yes the PS3 does do this. What he is saying that when he inserts a blu-ray in his PS3 it will not begin playback until he selects the A/V input on his T.V. that the PS3 is connected to. Meaning if he is watching tv and puts a disc in the PS3 it doesn't start playing until he switches over to that input.

That because HDMI has to handshake with the tv.

There is no settings for this (at least with the current update).

To the OP, yes, my PS3 does that too. Sometimes I would just insert the disc, hoping it would pass all those FBI warnings, but then when I turn on my TV and AV receiver, that's when it will start playback. It is annoying for me.

Sounds like a cool feature, I've never used the autostart though, I have my system on all the time with a disc in it, but I'm usually doing stuff on the xmb or playing music...so I've never had a use for the disc to begin playing on its own. Its cool that it will wait for you to be in the correct connection/resolution before playing though.
