Princess Mononoke (1997) - Blu-ray Forum

Disney will be releasing Studio Ghibi's masterpiece Princess Mononoke (Mononoke-hime) in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack on November 18th. This release will coincide with the release of Miyazaki's last film The Wind Rises, as well as another gem Kiki's Delivery Service.

To mods: This film is an important part of cinema in my opinion, whether it be animated or not, and as such I feel it should remain in this section where it can get the most awareness.

As it was just released in Japan in July, I think we likely won't see it till next year in the US. I thought they'd save Mononoke till then too since those are the two most popular releases, but I'm happy to have the latter early

. I'm guessing Porco Rosso will probably be released alongside Spirted Away.

Moved to the anime section. Oh well, less people will be aware of the release now, thanks mods. People wanted an anime section not just for BD releases (especially those of this calibre), but for the culture in general (so manga, japan, ongoing tv series, etc..), so moving it here is wrong in my opinion.

Less revenue from amazon links too

Most pleasant thing I've heard all day long. However, I would take those rakuten links with a grain of salt (especially after that disappointing "Target Kiki" rumour) unless there's an official word on the release. That being said, I have a strong feeling that something good is coming, and it'd better be sooner than later

Yeah, the package and release date sounds right by this point in the schedule, but I'm waiting for something a little more plausible than Rakuten/Buy.com
(At least with Amazon, you know when it's a placeholder.)

I'm not giving up my Kiki DVD for just any bit of news...
