Should be a HUGE upgrade over the mediocre-at-best blu ray. In addition to poor VC-1 compression, the BD had some pretty annoying black levels in many interior scenes, such as the ones in the club.

I really want to upgrade my Scarface Blu Ray from my Universal Set.

It's one of the worst if not the worst looking of the bunch. All I could think of was how badass the soundtrack is and the script and the acting , but damn this transfer looked wrong on my Epson projector. Still a great movie, but it needs a remaster or at least a studio canal transfer level upgrade LOL! Let's GO UNI/Paramount!

That has the botched Spartacus as well, doesn't it?

I hate upgrading box set titles, as it wastes shelf space (whereas for individual titles I can just get rid of the Blu, so it's a one for one swap).

Nope. The Spartacus is gorgeous. Never thought it could look so great. Must be the Remastered included in this set for Spartacus. it's so good you want to watch it twice.

I couldn't have cared less about picture quality when I watched it (being 5m away from a 40" TV, being fussy was impossible), so I can't say for sure based on my viewing experience. But I was sure it was established in the Spartacus thread that it's the old restoration.

EDIT: A quick search shows that set came out three years before the new Spartacus master.
