Couldn't find a thread for this. But this movie is supposed to be released this year. One of my most anticipated.

And it now has an R rating!!!

So glad they're not watering it down for a PG-13.

That's great. I thought it would be PG-13. I'm reading the book right now based on a friend's recommendation.

They are appealing the rating. Looking to see what it's Rated-R for it seems like it should be PG-13. So good luck to them. Hope they can get it PG-13. A lot of the potential audience wouldn't be able to go see it with an R.

The only work of Emma Watson that I enjoyed so far is only the Harry Potter series I tried to watch a couple of her other films and just felt her acting wasn't as good in those films as it was in HP. However, I am interested in seeing her in My Week With Marlynn and this film and see how well she fairs in them I hope her acting has improved since Ballet Shoes that movie wasn't very good at all...in my opinion anyway.

Honestly though, reading the book now it wouldn't need to be "R." Not to mention the rating is only for some drug use and sexual situations.

Anyway, even with a PG-13 rating this might not even crack 20 Million at the Box Office, IMO. I'm thinking 18.

So this will get a debut at the Toronto film festival, a little surprising since I wouldn't think a summit produced "teen" film would be best served at this venue.

Could be test screenings have gone crazy over it and Summit is fishing for Oscar buzz and pushing for a nom for Watson. At least thats the best case scenario.

Every time I see the trailer I get more excited for this. I wish they wouldn't have moved it back a week so it's up against House At The End of the Street. So stupid to put it against another movie that's going to appeal heavily to teens. Though Box Office Mojo lists it as a limited release. I sure hope it's not limited. This isn't the kind of movie that does great in limited release. Can't see that happening. Would at least expect a theater count in the low 1,000's. They would have been better off moving this up a week.

Not only will it be a limited release, but it will go out for the indie crowd one week after The Master. I'm really looking forward to it, but it really has no chance.

I really hope it expands wide the following weekend. It's a shame to waste it in limited release. Not that I think it will be a big hit regardless, but the book has a pretty good-sized following. Plus I'm so excited for it. I kinda get chills watching the trailer. I do not want to have it wait for it to come out on Blu before seeing it.
