Default NBC's "Chicago Fire" (Season 4)

I searched and couldn't find a thread.

When it debuted last fall I wasn't sure how I would like it as I have never been a fan of Law & Order and this from its creator Dick Wolf.

This show has become one of my favorite shows on TV right now. Although it seems they can't give the characters a break as it seems its one bad thing after another happening where it be on the job or personal.

So what do others think of the show? It reminds me a lot of another NBC show Third Watch that aired in the early 2000's.

Surprised that I saw this thread with no posts.

A solid show that my fiance and I enjoy watching. This coming week's episode looks pretty intense.

So what did everyone (at least those of us watching) think about the mid-season finale?

I don't think 51's seen the last of her as for Casey he may live but I don't think he will be a fireman for a while.

Anyone else still watching? Last night's episode was very good and with Severide's sister being kidnapped by the guy they threw out of the firehouse. It apparently sets up a storyline that will run in Chicago P.D. as well!

Yes! A pretty intense episode. And tonight's Chicago PD picks it up. Really excited and love the cross stroylines so far

The other day, I posted a comment in the CPD thread about liking the cross-guest-casting that they're doing between the shows. Until this week, they've just random character appearances, but now they're carrying a plotline from one show to the other, and already a big continuity problem has occurred:

In the last few Chicago Fire episodes, especially this week's, it's clearly been in the middle of winter, with snow on the ground. But this week's Chicago P.D., it's just 16 hours from the end of the CF episode, and there's no snow, and green leaves on the trees.

Husband loves this show. I keep it recorded for him while he is out on the road and he gets a marathon when he comes home.

Yeah, Chicago PD was shooting in the Summer for a Fall premiere date. Which is why it's all kind of screwed up now. I'm sure once we get later in the season, it will fit together much better.

I watched last week's episode last Wednesday night, but forgot to comment.

Pretty glaring continuity error with this and Chicago PD.

This episode was filmed during winter weather. It was snowing quite noticeably as ^^^ pointed out.

The Kelly Severide sister kidnapping storyline that ended the episode continued in Chicago PD and that episode it was clear and sunny with no snow. It was obvious that episode was shot during the Fall. Sophia Bush & the 2 patrol cops from PD even guest starred in this episode.

I have to wonder how the writers linked the 2 episodes together when they were shot months apart. Or was bringing in Taylor Kinney in Chicago PD edited in later on?

There were people commenting on both shows Facebook pages about the continuity errors.

Weird that this is on hiatus for the Winter Olympics, but PD is new this week.

I heard that PD began production around September. So the Fall weather is definitely noticeable.

Fire's episode from this past week was shot during the December Chicago winter.

Not really Tuesday night is the Presidential State of the Union which would take up its space and next week they are airing a two hour finale of The Biggest Loser then the next several weeks will be the Olympics.

Chicago PD gets two more episodes because of how the Olympics fall they begin next Thursday.

I suspect this is what they did. Taylor Kinney's appearance, and the dialogue between Jason Beghe and Sophia Bush concerning Severide and his sister were most likely shot relatively recently to synch the two episodes together (despite the weather discontinuity).

I'm betting that NBC wishes they debuted CPD in the fall instead of Ironside.

Awesome news. Renewed for a 3rd season.

Honestly I'm surprised this show and Chicago PD aren't more popular on boards like this. Both are more character driven dramas than procedurals.

I dunno. I love both shows. I just generally don't have much to say about them.

It's interesting that they seem to be slacking off a bit on the character crossovers lately. Though I suppose with the discontinuity relative to production schedule versus airing schedule, they may have thought that once they got CPD established, there wasn't as much cause to. And they're saving up for the big crossover at the end of April.

At any rate, I'm not surprised that both shows got renewed, but it's nice to see it made official.

Regarding this week's episode, I was pleasantly surprised. From the trailer for it, specifically Casey's "That was the bravest thing I've ever seen", I was expecting that they were going to skate out of the whole screwing over Jones bit by killing her off. I'm happy that they decided instead to flip the bird to her old man.

Hey,

Does anyone own the "Chicago Fire: Season 1" blu-ray set from the UK? I recently bought it and have been having issues. Disc 1 was fine but once I got to disc 2, episode 8, the episode froze about 4 and a half minutes in, and wouldn't play properly until about ten minutes in.

I was curious as to whether any of you had experienced the same problem or if I was an isolated case, as I intend to complain to Universal about this.

Thanks.

Didn't realize that it was released on BD in the UK. Interesting.

Have you looked at comments at, say, Amazon UK to see if anyone of their customers bought the set and have problems?
