I guess no more Signature Editions? No 4K listed either . The DMC did have a 'Limited Edition' a few years ago.

The artwork looks the same from a few years ago, I don’t think it’s finalized yet for this edition.

Signature Collection edition or not, but we'll see what happens.

Disney hasn't released any of their animated films older than The Little Mermaid on 4K. I'm sure they have everything from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and on scanned at 4K, but they either don't think these films will sell, or don't think there's much of an upgrade between Blu-ray and 4K for them.

Incidentally, however, they did just release Who Framed Roger Rabbit on 4K, which while a hybrid animated film, is still a bit older than anything else they've put out. Who knows what they'll do in the future.

No, you made a wishlist thread for something that didn't exist with zero information or knowledge of any actual release. It belongs in the wishlist section.

Well, do you think it can be moved?

If Disney wants my money again, they'll need to offer a choice of aspect ratios this time. But I'm not optimistic...

Would love to see both ratios. To me Jungle Book always looked best in Open Matte. The OAR version always seemed to have no headroom at all.

With Disney's that fully animated close to 1.33/1.37 then matted to Theater ratios, Jungle Book is one that looked best fully opened. The composition of the frame just felt better rather than having a lot of empty space above/below like some open matte did.

Order Date: 2022-01-07 -- I'll assume this is a preorder or Retailer prebooking date

this does translate into Jan 7, correct? It appears from some other items the pre-book date is 4-6 weeks ahead of expected release date

I like to see this new release in both 4.3 and 6.19 aspect ratios too.

Be interesting to see if they re-release The Jungle Book 2 as well. They did concurrently release the DTV sequels for all the other Signature Collection titles, but that was pre-Disney+ when the "Vault" was technically still a thing. That being said, both The Jungle Book and its sequel have been out-of-print for several years now, and if they really are entirely retiring their vault then they would be wise to re-release both. Then again, there are still a handful of Disneytoon titles that both a) have yet to be released on Blu-ray for the first time and b) no longer have DVDs in print (looking at you, Pooh's Heffalump Movie and sequel), so I suppose at the end of the day it's a crapshoot.

Especially since Disney didn't re-release The Return of Jafar, Aladdin and The King of Thieves, Patch's London Adventure, or Belle's Magical World (still Disney's only Beauty and the Beast movie without a Blu-ray) with their respective predecessors' Signature Collection releases.

Well, at least "Patch's London Adventure" got a re-release in November 2019, right?

And "Belle's Magical World" is currently unavailable on digital, especially in general retail stores (except thrift/online stores).

But Aladdin II and III have been available since 2016 so no real reason to re-release something still in print.

And 101 II was re-released a few weeks after the Signature Release

You mean 'a couple months after the Signature Release of the first film'?

Still only have the Platinum DVD of this one, so I'll happily upgrade when this comes back in print.

Why are you so insistent on correcting minutiae that doesnt change the trajectory of the conversation at all? Two months is technically "a few weeks", isnt it?
