The artwork looks the same from a few years ago, I don’t think it’s finalized yet for this edition.

Also, didn't I make a topic like that, as in this?

Incidentally, however, they did just release Who Framed Roger Rabbit on 4K, which while a hybrid animated film, is still a bit older than anything else they've put out. Who knows what they'll do in the future. |

Would love to see both ratios. To me Jungle Book always looked best in Open Matte. The OAR version always seemed to have no headroom at all.
With Disney's that fully animated close to 1.33/1.37 then matted to Theater ratios, Jungle Book is one that looked best fully opened. The composition of the frame just felt better rather than having a lot of empty space above/below like some open matte did. Being a Canadian site Order Date: 2022-01-07 -- I'll assume this is a preorder or Retailer prebooking date this does translate into Jan 7, correct? It appears from some other items the pre-book date is 4-6 weeks ahead of expected release date Last edited by hariseldon; 12-10-2021 at 09:04 PM. |

Be interesting to see if they re-release The Jungle Book 2 as well. They did concurrently release the DTV sequels for all the other Signature Collection titles, but that was pre-Disney+ when the "Vault" was technically still a thing. That being said, both The Jungle Book and its sequel have been out-of-print for several years now, and if they really are entirely retiring their vault then they would be wise to re-release both. Then again, there are still a handful of Disneytoon titles that both a) have yet to be released on Blu-ray for the first time and b) no longer have DVDs in print (looking at you, Pooh's Heffalump Movie and sequel), so I suppose at the end of the day it's a crapshoot.

Especially since Disney didn't re-release The Return of Jafar, Aladdin and The King of Thieves

And "Belle's Magical World" is currently unavailable on digital, especially in general retail stores (except thrift/online stores). |
