Default HDMI cable issues...

I wanted to hear some opinions before I either spent money on a new HDMI cable or pull everything out of my entertainment center. I have a ps3 hooked up to a 37 inch Vizio via HDMI cable that I had bought in a two pack (the other one is going to my cable box and is doing just fine).

Anyway, what happens, is that right after starting up a game or sometimes about 20 minutes into playing, the signal will start going in and out with static. It used to happen on only a few titles but now it does it on all the games I play regularly. It started doing this about a month and a half into owning and using.

It also never had done it with movies, until the other night it did it during TDK (dammit!), bit didn't do it again during a second viewing.

So I guess what I want your opinion on 1) What are the odds it's the cable vs. the ps3? 2) If it's the cable where is a good place to get a good one that is not ridiculously priced?

Did you try switching the cables around? Hook the one in your cable box to the PS3, and vice versa. Once you do that, does the PS3 picture still degrade? If not, does the cable box picture degrade? That will probably give you a better idea if it is a bad HDMI cable, and not your PS3 crapping out. Especially since you stated that both HDMI cables came from the same pack.

I figured it would come to that. Just looking for input before I started doing that. Kind of a pain in the ass.

Default I inadvertently solved it

So I went to go switch stuff around to solve the problem and the first thing I did worked. I switched the HDMI cables at the TV. The PS3 is now HDMI 1 and the cable box is HDMI 2 now. So who knows what the hell that means. Thanks for the input!
