got my 60 gig at lauch. then dropped+broke it last month, sent it in and- Voila! they sent me a whole new one free of charge. new HDD (60GB), etc. they even told me it was a new one.

So technically ive had my 60 gig ps3 for less then a month, but ive had a PS3 over a year .

im hoping to upgrade to a TB (1024 GB) some time soon though...

I had a 60gb then bought the 80gb at walmart with the 10 free movies then sold the 60gb. I had sold all my PS2 games with the system, when I got the PS3. So, I didn't have a need for the full backwards compatability.

60GB for just under a year now and never looked back. Still zero games for it lol, I have 360 for that, but I love it as a Blu Ray player and it's awesome that they keep updating it so it will never get outdated as a BD player!

I wonder what would happen if you had a 60gb and it broke in a few years. What if it wasn't repairable? Would they give you different PS3 or do you think they still have those motherboards in supply to fix it?

Had a 60 gig until two days ago . . . did a little swap at Best Buy under my 2 year replacement plan and got the 80 gig. They gave me the $100 difference between the 60 and 80 on a gift card, plus I got the 5 free Blu-ray offer AND the free Motorstorm I made out pretty well.

60GB back in July right after the first price drop, wanted to make sure I had solid hardware-based PS2 compatibility.

Bought my 60gb on launch day. Kind of a last minute decision. Best hardware I've ever bought. I still only have one game though.

Best use of my moey bar none. I was kind of ticked that after I bought my PS3 80 gig was $ 50 dollars cheaper, but since I have 52 gigs still availible to me I am not worried.

I've heard they were only keeping the 40GB once everything else is sold. I really like my 60.

That is true...they might give you the 80gb. Since it uses software emulation for the backwards compatability, the list of games it could play should have grown to almost the entire library by that point.
