Default Scrubs coming back?!?!

Quote:
Those madcap zanies of “Scrubs” begin a whole new season of hugging and learning on Dec. 1, ABC announced Wednesday. (Recall that the most of the old cast are returning only on a part-time basis, with a whole new flock of med students taking center stage.)

The network also announced “Better Off Ted,” with all of its original regulars intact, returns Dec. 8.
I'm really against this. It's not going to be the same.

LOL Mike where have you been?

This was decided towards the end 2008. However, I am with you on this. I think its a terrible idea in the first place.

I had heard they wanted to bring it back but seeing it made official upsets me. The show to me has always been about JD and his musings. I wonder if they will pick a new character to center on or if it will be jumping around to different characters.

It is not the same.

The Scrubs we knew is over and done with. Bill Lawrence, however, could not put so many people out of a job so they retooled Scrubs and now the focus is on teaching with John C McGinley (Dr. Cox) and Donald Faison (Turk) being the series regulars.

Zach Braff and Sarah Chalke will help usher in the new format for the show but will not be commited to stay. To further reiterate that this is not a "continuation" of the Scrubs storyline, new opening titles were created for this branch off.

But JD lives 37 minutes away! An hour and 14 minutes round trip!

I just wish they could have officially set it apart as a different show with a different title. Don't say it's a new season of the same show, say it's a spin-off. At least add a subtitle or something.

I don't think with just Cox and Turk returning that a new name would be able to carry that show. If they didn't put Scrubs it would be an immediate failure. The way I see it, it's going to tarnish this once amazing show.

They could have called it "Scrubs: Med School" or something. Just to differentiate it and basically make it clear that while it's going on from what happened before, it's not the same show.

I think if JD isn't going to be there, then Cox should step in and reiterate to the new students that they're "nothing but a pair of scrubs" to him.

The only cast member that's really not going to be around much is JD.

And frankly, he was the least interesting member of the cast as the series went on.

This new direction is a refreshing change. So I'm looking forward to it.

That's your opinion. To me the show was what it was because of JD.

No. That's a lot of people's opinions.

The last few seasons have almost made JD unlikeable as a character.

I thought they were keeping all the original casts with this new one. But the story line changes around the new med students.

Cool

Zack Braff is a douche! The only thing I liked about JD is the way he interacted with Turk, funny stuff!

My two favorite charaters are still intact, Cox & Turk. If Kelso, the Janitor, and Ted are still around the new show will be good.

Word, Cox went from unlikeable to the best character on the show.

So as long as he's still around, I'm in. Especially if he's gonna get more focus now that they annoying and increasingly unlikeable JD is out of the picture. What can I say, I love Cox.

Judy Reyes, who plays Carla, is not returning at all, and most cast members will be written out early on. Sarah Chalke, who plays Elliot is only returning for the first 6 episodes (same as Braff). Also, Sam Lloyd who plays Ted has already filmed his last episode and Neil Flynn who plays the Janitor is on The Middle now so he won't be on the show much.

I kind of wish they'd just make it a new show, sort of like Frasier. I think it could be decent but a lot of people won't like it because it is going to be so different. I also wonder how much time Bill Lawrence can devote to Scrubs now that he's running Cougar Town. I'm also not sure how it's going to work without Judy Reyes returning as Carla. Are they never going to show Turk at home?

That's a good point. It was nice seeing them outside the hospital. So unless it's Turk visiting JD at home, which is a long drive, I doubt we will see much of Turk outside of work.

It's not going to be the same and a different name would have been great.

The finale wrapped the show up so well for me, there's no way I can give this a chance.

I honestly didn't like the "final episode". I thought it was gonna be way better.
