Didn't get a chance to see it over the weekend. But next well I'll be sure to do so. As Red One will be the only new release this coming week.

Plus seeing this completes the Lionsgate Regal promo of seeing 4 films. Thus getting 4,000 more points and digital copies of all 4 films I saw.

This is a really sweet, timeless movie. It could've been made 30 years ago and it just has a well-made classic feeling. Judy Greer is, of course, fantastic in this as she always is. I hadn't seen a trailer or even fully knew what this was about but I was pleasantly surprised.

Plus, it's always nice to see some good live-action family films like the ones I grew up with that just seem a bit more rare today.

I have a 3-day weekend so may take the family to go see it.

My 12 year-old daughter didn’t seem too impressed with the trailer, but it seems to be getting great reviews!

I personally love a good Christmas movie - love this time of year!

Read the book when I was in elementary school. Is the original TV movie available anywhere?

*Edit*

Of course it's available, on YouTube. The 1983 version.

I want to see it closer to Christmas, but will it last that long? I dunno why limited release Christmas movies don’t just get released in December instead of November.

Too few screens, competing against Oscar bait.

If you release a holiday movie in December it doesn’t give it a long enough chance to make money. Less will want to watch a Christmas movie in January/February.

Home Alone 1 & 2 released in November.

Right but if it was always going to be limited release they should’ve waited. I hear there are no trailers, which sounds like a limited release. If so, I think they should’ve waited until December.

I wouldn't consider 3000 theaters to be a limited release. With things going to digital so quickly these days it's very possible it'll be available to stream by mid December.

Default Wonderful Movie!

I just watched it on Apple's Movie App streaming. It is a heart-warming story for all ages and its focus is on the meaning and Person of Christmas. Highly recommend this movie and loved it!

Merry Christmas to you!

I was about to ask if this would be streaming in time for Christmas and... just now noticed it's up on Amazon Prime to rent, so I guess so!

I'm glad this book was turned into a theatrical movie. I feel bad that it didn't get more attention. I read it in school, saw a stage version of it at a children's theater, and saw a made-for-TV movie of it which was made in the 1980s.

My concern about the book is that it is now seen as dated because of the opening sentence, "The Herdmans were the worst kids in the history of the world." That may have been true in 1972, but five decades later, with school shootings happening more often and with more casualties, many readers today might strongly disagree and tune out after finishing the first paragraph.

FYI.

This is getting a Bluray release at the end of October (finally). If the website I saw is to be trusted... Bluray/DVD/Digital.

It is on the calendar here at Bluray.com too for Oct. 28. Our family really enjoyed the movie. Can see it becoming an annual watch for sure.
