Default Bumblebee UK UHD - cut?

Couldn’t find a uk thread for this release. In the Aussie BD thread people are confirming the Australian BD is going to be cut, not the US one. Someone adds UK to that cut disc as well.

Anyone know if the Uk UHD/BD release will be cut? I’ve placed a preorder at Zoom for the steelbook (although I’m no longer bothered with SBs, I do prefer over the standard amaray for this). But for £27, if it’s cut I’d import.

It's possible the Aus one is and might be, but it would be amazing if they did w pressing of the uhd just for Australia, and the only time we have seen different discs in Australia is when we get a different Euro pressing like The Martian UHD, and Blade Runner 2049.. It is so hard to tell from the OFLC website, as it does show m for the Blu-ray. But the cover pics are inconsistent. It'd be more likely we get the Blu-ray in pg with a local pressing from a local company, and an import uhd either global, or a Euro pressing.

I'm not going to preorder, and will just wait.

Mods can kill this thread, the Australian release thread confirms UK is cut and not worth owning.

UK artwork reflecting a PG cert, could always be wrong, but seems unlikely with the evidence so far.

Apparently, it's only 6 seconds, and amounts to two utterances of the word "shit" and the other 5 seconds are something about
[Show spoiler] a forest scene with some people dying onscreen?

I've not seen the film, but it doesn't sound too bad. I certainly wouldn't go as far as to say 'not worth owning.'

Not at all.

IMO every instance of censorship (because that's what this is to me, I don't care who is responsible for the edits), no matter how small or minor, is something that should not be rewarded.

I absolutely refuse to buy a release which has been tampered with in favour of a lower rating, while other territories have the same movie albeit in its completely unedited original form like it was meant to be seen.

Really can't stand it when stuff like this happens.

I'd agree with that... I'll be sourcing an uncut version.

It looks like both the Blu-ray and UHD Blu-ray discs are the same in the UK and Australia, and cut by six seconds:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...6#post16247846

This is pretty disappointing. Obviously, the Australians feel that the bonus content pushes the disc to their M rating anyway, and the BBFC passed the uncut version of the film at 12A in the UK, so if they classify any VAM at 12, the UK releases will appear uncut but likely will not be uncut.

EDIT: Wow, so it seems that the Blu-ray bonus content was originally given a 12 on 4 February 2019, but then Paramount UK went a step further and actually re-submitted the bonus content on 20 February 2019, apparently omitting an 83-second extra called "Burns Meets Bee" in order to get a PG certificate. So it looks like the UK version at least, is not only saddled with a cut version, but will also be missing at least one extra, as well.

I don't really understand what Paramount was thinking cutting the film, anyway. Are there really that many kids who would be allowed to see one of these live-action Transformers films at PG but not at 12A, especially when the consumer advice is essentially the same? I don't think so.

Is the Aussie release definitely cut? The artwork gas an M mature rating on it.

The extras are rated M, the film is rated PG.

Definitely importing. The UK disc can go F itself in the A.

This crap is still waaaay too prevalent in the UK market. Things like The Equalizer and The Avengers have fortunately managed to get onto UHD unscathed but plenty of stuff has not being so lucky (Red Sparrow, Aquaman now Bumblebee)

Cancelled my HMV online Aquaman and Bumblebee steelbooks.
Fast 8 didn't bother me, but this is a bit silly.

We've had it pretty good in recent years to be fair, but just lately there's been a spate of such snippings in order to get a lower, more commercially-oriented rating. On a practical level I've been importing discs for, what, over 20 years now to get whatever uncut and/or betterer version of whatever movie, it's no bother to grab Bee from the US or wherever. I might even wait for it to appear in those ultra cheap multibuy deals on one the continental Amazons.

What does frustrate though is that I actually want to support the local UHD market when it comes to new releases, and that more and more cut versions are happening isn't making that easy. Given the amount of physical formats available and the inherent 'collector' impetus behind 4K's 'niche of a niche of a niche' status then why not just have the 4K as the uncut version?

6 seconds isn't much to me, it's the kind of film I'd watch, then sell/trade on shortly afterwards, and I find it much easier to do that with UK editions than other countries' editions, so I'll probably get the UK one.

As a matter of interest, has anyone here seen it? Thinking of watching it with my 7 (almost 8) year old and wondered if it is particularly scary/violent in parts for smaller kids..

If you're concerned about violence etc get the UK version , any PG has got to be suitable for a 7/8 year old.
