Default I officially can't watch SD DVD anymore...

The other night I tried watching the movie The Invasion in sdvd. Wow, was that not only a shitty movie, but good God the PQ was horrendous. I've watched enough BDs of late that going back to sdvd is pretty much not gonna happen anymore.

I'm going to rent American Gangster on sdvd from BlockBuster tomorrow and that may very well be the last sdvd I ever watch.

high definition is the future. It's like when I had 56K modem speed and then subscribe to DSL. Oh my....couldn't believe I didn't change to high speed connection sooner than later.

I'm usually fine with it.

Today actually marked the first time I purposefully watched a standard version of a movie and within a couple of days, watched the HD version. Once again, the difference blew me away more than i thought it would. Today was the first time i thought "Man, I cant really watch SD anymore"

Yeah. Whenever I see a standard DVD, all I see are the scanlines. I would honestly go HD DVD before I go standard DVD again.

I agree, I have not watched a single sdvd since I started watching BD.

Everyday I glance at my DVD collection and laugh to myself.

100+ dvds sold in the past couple months. I'm even considering selling all of my Star Wars and Indiana Jones DVDs.

I watched American Gangster over the weekend(friends with video store owner, I always get to see the releases early), It was an excellent movie!! but to be honest the picture looked liked S%*T, I watched it on my 1080P Tv in my PS3 hooked up via hdmi to a onkyo 605, & it looked terriable with uni & para probably not too far behind the bd train now with toshiba out, I hope to never have to watch a dvd again(except a few TV series: South Park, Family Guy, Seinfeld, Curb your enthusiasm, & Entourage)

I actually can not follow this reasoning as I love movies and most are not out in Blu. I agree, if it is in BD, then by all means that is the way to watch. But I still watch for more SD DVDs as I have a long list of films that I want to watch that may takes years before they come out on BD. Now if it is a shitty movie, then it sucks, but I would rather watch a great movie in SD then a shitty movie in HD
