Default When will HD-DVD officially imploed?

I really believed HD-DVD had a chance to drag this war into Q4 2008, I even considered picking up a HD-DVD player.

However it is now obvious there is huge panic at Toshiba towers, their biggest ally, Microsoft, has reportedly taken a step back from the format war, Toshibas $200 players is stepping on the toes of the add-on, while the pricing is not only only unsustainable, it will ensure no other manufactuer will produce HD-DVD players in the future.

With WB practically admitting if they do go exclusive, it will be with Blu-ray, it looks to all the world Toshiba are having a blowout firesale to shift A2 stock, which has sold FAR below expectations.

HD-DVD has the stench of desperation, some Blu-ray supporters may even pick up a player and free disc's, but no movie fan is going to sink a heap of cash into HD-DVD media, they'll take what they can from Toshiba and leave them high and dry.

I see it being game up for HD-DVD Q2 2008.
