Default Should there be so many sensormatic strips in BD cases?

I know that they need to be on the cases, but it's not like they're that expensive. The only ones that make me angry are the black spiral-embossed stickers that leave residue behind. No matter what you try, they still stay! Those are so annoying because I want my movie collection to look good, and although you cannot see them until you open the case, it can still make all the difference.

STUDIOS I'M LOOKING AT THAT NEED TO GET RID OF THE SPIRAL STICKERS:
20th Century Fox
Lionsgate
Walt Disney Pictures
Possibly some more...

I know, but it's not like the discs are that important. What I mean is that I have found several of them, and the only one that I have a beef with is the sticker that leaves the residue. I understand that they need to be in there, but the sticker is just ridiculous! Some of them come with the sticker on a piece of paper, which can easily be removed, and I don't mind that, either. It's just the ones that are attached to the case.

I also hate the stupid strips on the outside of the cases. No matter what i do there is always one that leaves a stick mess behind. Ive also taken one of the strips off the top and it completely pulled the blu ray logo of the top of the case. I was pissed.

Yea, the outside stickers I've had no problems with. The blue strip along the top with the BD logo can be a little scratched, but that's not really important.

well if you work in a store that sells Blu-ray movies do you want people stealing the cases with the movie inside? i wouldnt think so. until they find a way to make it into a security device with no sticker or sticky on the inside it has to be this way no matter what

Of course not! If discs were stolen, we'd have to pay more. I just feel that they should use the ones with the paper attached.

Have you ever heard of RFID? Many products have passive RFID that is more than just a strip for the security device at the door.

Yes, or Goo Gone. Or you can just use plain lighter fluid. But I agree. What annoys me is when on the inside they have not only that horrible spiral sticker, but also the magnetic rectangular strip! Why TWO!?

It is a pain, but that sticky mess is easily removed with lighter fluid or Goo Gone.

I know the secret to this It took a while to master this art. Mainly because of hit/miss tactics. It's mostly with fox titles too.

1) Take off regular plastic shrink wrap.
2) Get a knife, slice down the middle of all 3 security stickers holding the case together.
3) Open the case, now your 3 security stickers have become 6 since they are still stuck on there but been cut in half.
4) Grab ahold of a piece of the sticker at the edge, and in one swift motion ; pull off.
5) Repeat process till all are taken off.

#1 Mistake Made: Thinking you can get it started with your fingernail and pull it off like "Regular" BD's.

If you do that, sticky cases will be a thing of the past

That's so the theif takes off the rectangle one, thinking he is done, and doesnt check for the spiral.

Wink Evil Trick

I have found that if you buy a DVD / Blu-ray mail order, the anti-theft device inside the package is usually not deactivated. I found this out when I picked up a package at the post office, then went into a shop .

Now for thew Evil bit

Peel this out of the case carefully and stick it to a well concealed part of the handbag / clothing of someone who really pi$$es you off . Every shop they go into they get the full attention .

Any intelligent theif would just pop out the disc and take that. Buy his own blu cases for 75 cents each and print out his own covers. Then again, if they were intelligent they'd just buy the darn things to begin with and not risk arrest for a movie!

Plus, I would think JUST the spiral would be enough since any employee would certainly notice someone sitting there getting incredibly frustrated with the annoyance of the sticker and it's sticky leftovers. Haha
