Synopsis
THERE IS A FORCE MORE POWERFUL THAN MAN!

After the world has been destroyed by nuclear war, an unlikely group of survivors take refuge in a mountain retreat. With tensions mounting and trust all but gone, they discover that fighting each other is the least of their problems. Something outside is stalking them ... something dangerous ... something mutant. This '50s sci-fi classic stars Richard Denning (Creature From The Black Lagoon) and Touch "Mike" Conners (Mannix) and is produced and directed by Roger Corman.

I believe this was supposed to get a wide release a couple years ago, but it never came to be.

At that price and without another new one to combine it with for free shipping, it may take longer than usual to sell out. I'll wait for another exclusive to drop first before buying.

Wasn’t this announced months back and then either cancelled or delayed? Either way, glad to see it’s coming.

Ah, see the second post, duh.

I've read about it, I've never seen it, but here's no way is a cheapo b/w sci-fi film is going to match up to that great film poster/cover.

Normally, I'd agree with you but I was actually looking for something to pair with The Sword and the Sorcerer. I wanted to pre-order that title to get the poster so only having the one limited exclusive was enough to get free shipping. The fact this title is getting a poster as well, unlike the other exclusives that have come out in pairs, is probably an attempt to entice more buyers.

Just pre-ordered it, along with NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY, which took me over the $50 threshold in order to get free shipping. DAY THE WORLD ENDED is one of the better Roger Corman movies from the 50s. Saw it in a retro drive-in about five or six years ago with my son and it was highly enjoyable.

Steep price, but I need this in my collection and couldn’t risk it still being around long, so I had to pre-order it.

Mine shipped. I hope Shout! continue releasing Arkoff's '50s horror and sci-fi titles, not to mention Corman's Not of this Earth.

Actually, the poster does represent the monster pretty closely, believe it or not.

Mine shipped. I can relax now. I needed to be a member of this exclusive club, just like I needed to be a member of the ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS club. CRAB MONSTERS sold out, and so will DAY THE WORLD ENDED.

I am hoping they reissue Crab Monsters one day. I asked Shout if they might do that, and they said they've considered reissuing some sold out Corman titles, but their exclusives are already booked through at least half the year.

Mine arrived earlier today, shipped in a large bubble mailer. The folded poster does come in a labelled ziplock bag with a couple of thin cardboard pieces on both sides to offer some protection.

At least for once they didn't use a cheap cut-out eco case as they have for many of their recent website "exclusives"

Here is a basic BDInfo scan of the disc:

As for the transfer, which I've only scanned through thus far, the grain seems really chunky in some scenes, and in others it's not nearly as strong. I get the impression the transfer may have come from multiple sources, but I could be wrong...perhaps different film stocks were originally used. The aspect ratio is the 2.00:1 OAR, exactly.

Bonus features include the advertised new Corman Interview, which runs at nearly 40 minutes.

The "Theatrical Trailer" is included on the disc, and there is also an "Audio Commentary" by film historian/author Tom Weaver & Music Historian David Schecter — albeit neither are listed on the back cover or Shout's item page for whatever reason.

I've been planning on buying Day the World Ended and up till now I have not done so. Your mention of a new 40min Corman interview sealed the deal...ordered!
