Default Music on Blu-Ray...

I've been thinking about the possibility of putting my entire music collection on a single blu-ray disc, to play on my PS3. Any ideas on how this is possible? In particular i want to put my entire I-Tunes collection on blu-ray, because the volume via-itunes is rediculously low! Will music on blu-ray disc be a solution to this problem?

I still have the blu-ray suite that came with my BWU-100A drive, which has all kinds of blu-ray software, i am hoping i can use some of that to burn my music onto the blu-ray disc. Will my PS3, play the purchased i-tunes music as well?

Before I forget, is there a way to somehow get high-res music on to BD? I have a few titles on DVD-Audio and SACD

There's no reason to do that. You can stream audio to the PS3 with special software that runs on your computer.

Here's one for the Mac. If you use a PC, just search, there are several out there.

Why not play the SACDs directly on your PS3?

If you insist on converting them to BD for convenience's sake, the only way to do so will be via analogue outputs -- the format is too well protected. DVD-Audio can probably be 'ripped'.

I forgot about SACD's and PS3, i guess i got a little careless in wording my question... Does anyone know how to "rip" DVD-Audio? What kind of compression (if any) or codecs are used with DVD-audio... I play DVD-audio's through the creative player that comes with the X-fi software suite.

Before i forget, how do i activate CPPM key on PowerDVD to enable DVD-audio playback through powerDVD? The X-FI player utilizes the 2 cores on my CPU and causes the blue-screen of death after about 2 tracks... i can go around this problem by setting affinity, but i don't like taking the extra steps

I use MediaTomb at home.
It requires a mac and some unix/terminal programming. But it works great!

Is this what you use to rip DVD-Audio?

Since this is a discussion about music on Blu-ray, I thought I'd post this article from Stereophile.com. You have to scroll down a bit, but it talks about a certain music company waiting for the format war to be over before they decided to go to one of the new formats. They produce mostly classical music, but it's a start...

If you have windows XP or vista OS you can use the latest windows Media player to share your tunes to other computers in your network (including you PS3). I do this and can access my MP3 that are on my external hard drive on my PC from either my PS3 or my xbox 360.

I know it works with MP3 and I thin kWMV as well. not 100% sure about itunes as I don't have that.
