Hey all,
I bought a Panamax 5510 PRO power conditioner off of Craigslist awhile ago from a very reputable seller. I bought it for $350 and picked it up at his house. His home theater set-up looked very professional and he was a very nice guy. However, when I got home and tested out all the plugs, I noticed that the final 2, supposedly for speakers, did not function. While I wasn't plugging speakers into it, I noticed my dad, who has the same unit as I do, has the same problem. My dad actually purchased his new and has the warranty from Panamax, but is too lazy to call and get his fixed. That being said, is there anything I'm doing wrong that is making it not function? Or does Panamax have a history with making faulty speaker outlets? Thanks for any help! Last edited by delux247; 03-04-2008 at 09:59 PM. Reason: spelling |

Thanks for the reply! I misspoke when I said speakers. My "high current outlets" used for subs and amps don't work. Neither do my father's on his unit. The owner's manual gave examples of plugging in amplifiers and subwoofers into these outlets. While I wasn't plugging in subs or amps, I was just testing the outlets with basic plug and play and they didn't work.

There are switches on the back that control the turn on/off delay for the high current outputs.
You can download the manual here to see where the switch is and what the setting are. |

Is this one of the “switched high-current outlets”? The previous owner my have had the bank triggered for use. If this is the case, your father’s owners manual should fix the problem. I think the button on the face, other than the light dimmer button turns on and off the bank trigger function.
