Smile Definitive Technology Pro Sub 1000 vs Pro sub 800

Alright my father is buying a 7.1 system im trying to convince him for a 107 dollars with tax that the 1000 sub is much better.
The 800 sub has two 8" subs the 1000 has two 10" subs

I have always found 8" subs to be too small, they just can't hit low enough octaves. I would definitely go for the 1000 because of the size. One sub I would recommend more though, hands down, is the Martin Logan dynamo at Best Buy/Magnolia. It is a much better sub, and you don't need Martin Logan speakers to have that sub. It sounds cleaner, hits lower, and has plenty of power. It is $600 instead of $500, but well worth the money.

They don't actually have 2 subs. there is one driver (sub) in each subwoofer box and a passive radiator on the bottom of each one. It isn't a speaker, it is just a feature to help with lowering distortion and acting sort of like a port. And to answer your question, yes, it is worth the extra money. A 10'' sub can move more air than a 8", even if they're powered by the same watt amp.
