Default Can't stop buying DVDs!

I know I should be building my Blu-ray collection, but I can't stop buying DVDs! They are just so cheap and I can get about three brand new ones for the price of one Blu-ray. Anyone else still buy DVDs and what advice do you have for me?

If you're like me, at some point you'll prefer to have them in BD, then you're not saving b/c you're spending $10 on a DVD versus a BD, you're actually spending $10 plus the cost of the BD.

But that's just me.

Do what makes you happy I'm 99.9% done with DVD.

I will occasionly buy tv shows and box sets on dvd. I just got all four of the James Bond Ulitmate collections at the deepdiscount sale. The remasters are good and they come with a ton of extras.

I don't like the upscaled look. Its to grainy I prefer to run dvd in its native 480p

I haven't bought a DVD for almost a year, but I may pick up some of the TV DVD boxed sets on the cheap pretty soon.

So do you think I should just stop buying DVDs and buy Blu-ray only despite it being more expensive? I know DVDs are on their way out, so should I just bite the bullet and get less movies each week in favor of better quality?

I can't do it. I would much rather buy 1 movie a week on Blu than 3 DVD

In short, YES!

I stopped buying all DVD's over 3+ years ago in anticipation of the coming PS3and blu-ray movie options. All that money I saved over 3+ years is now wrapped up in the better technology and hi-def movie library.

+1

This is why I've stopped buying DVDs except for titles I won't update (mostly TV), titles I see taking forever to come to blu, a few cheap universal titles ($5 for children of men - i'll take that), and disney animated titles.

I no longer buy SD DVDs I only buy Blu even if it means waiting till a movie comes out on Blu. Why buy a SD and then have to buy it again when its out on Blu.

I just picked up a few DVDs actually, I'm still buying them. Upconversion will do, and when the Blu-Ray does come out, I'll pick that up. $10.00 is my max for a DVD.

Same. I almost never spend more than $5-$10 on a DVD anymore.

Advice:
Sell your entire collection as long as you get a few "$" for it...

I did it, and I feel free now...

If you wait to long, your DVD´s will be kind of worthless...
you can watch it on ebay, I saw "Lord of the Rings" ...sold for only $2...

I have the complete opposite...

I won't spend money on any movie unless it's Blu...it's just not worth it...

If you don't care about PQ and AQ, then go for the cheap DVD's. Others, like myself, prefer really high PQ and AQ and are willing to pay the extra money to get it. Go buy all the DVD's that you want... just don't buy HD-DVD, it's evil.
