Post Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez to take on Red Sonja...

According to IMDB, Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez has confirmed that they are planning a major remake to the 1985 Arnold Schwarzenegger/Brigitte Nielsen action film, "Red Sonja", and that Rose McGowan will play the role that made Brigitte Nielsen famous. My view on this is simple: If Rose McGowan can play a one-legged zombie killer in "Planet Terror", then I think she can take on the role of a sword-wielding, red-headed warrior! What do you think?

I personally think Robert has to stop doing things for his girlfriend and make Sin City 2 already, he is gonna mess it up for delaying it further

Seems like Robert is more interested in making Rose a star than making great movies. I would be much more interested in seeing Sin City 2 than in seeing Rose in Barbarella or Red Sonja.

I really like the idea of a Red Sonja remake. To confess, I enjoyed the first film a lot. I am a big fan of the "sword and sorcery" genre Looking foward to it, should be fun.

I really enjoyed the old Red Sonja movie, it was really kinda campy but a lot of fun. I also really like the book/comic character. Only thing about this that bugs me is that Rose Mcgowan looks nothing like Red Sonja to me, even if they dyed her hair, put her in skimpy clothes and gave her a sword (It sounds hot none-the-less), she looks nothing like the character or any character of that type set in the Conan universe. :P She'd be more like one of the princesses that Conan rescues from some castle and she is more than grateful. rofl

I dunno. Maybe I'll be surprised. Maybe she'll pull it off, I just...don't see it right now. :P

Yeah I think Rodriguezs movies from now on will have his girlfriend in them. Expect her to be in Sin City2 and Spy Kids 4 and 5. Rodriguez blows his only decent film was Sin City and im anxiously awaiting the 2nd. And Sin City was only as good as it was because of frank miller.

He makes films he wants to make not what he thinks will make money. I love everyone of films for this, Mariachi & Desperado just great fun action films, Dusk till dawn huge horror fun, Spy Kids are some of the most fun family films for a long time. Its a shame you think Sin City was his only good film (his most commercial).

Frank Miller is a hack who RR gave way to much credit to (his title of Director, now he thinks he can make his own films, the spirit doesn't look like it will have any artistic direction apart from copying Sin City's original take on comic books)

Have you ever read any of Frank Miller's original source material? The Dark Knight Returns? It was the inspiration for 1989's Batman. Batman: Year One? Miller's take on the origin of Batman provided the heart of Batman Begins. Daredevil? Miller's take on Daredevil, his origins, and his creation of the Electra character and her relationship with Daredevil became the basis of the film. Sin City? Rodriguez basically used Miller's original work to storyboard each shot of Sin City for the film.

Frank Miller is no "hack" as you put it. Far from it.

My apologies, i did not word myself correctly, when it comes to Film i think he he is a hack.

Yes i have, and continue to, read and adore Millers work. Batman Year one was fantastic.

My point was more directed towards to Millers entry into Film (which was the early eighties with Robocop) Just because it didn't go his way he abandoned cinema and vowed never to return, until someone (Robert Rodriguez) put the effort into creating something great out of his work. Miller then went on to receive critical acclaim for Sin City (the film) which i do not think he deserved.

RR put his ass on the line to get it made. Frank Miller got all the credit he should have (with the comic) but his credit with the film was unjust. RR's knowledge of effects and digital cinema brought Sin City to life, not Frank Millers work as "co-director"

(Im totally talking about the film not the comic as Frank Miller obviously gets all the credit by creating it in the first place)

Oh please don't give me that art vs commercial crap. Yeah Dusk Till Dawn is "amazing horror" and desperado is "great action" but sin city is "commercial" And what cause a director makes money its a bad thing? I like Sin City because I have read all the graphic novels long before the movie was out and was a fan for a long time. Then it comes out and its exactly like the graphic novels the style duplicated on film. I was impressed at it because its like watching the graphic novels come to life. This artistic vision that you say Frank Miller doesn't have made Sin City as good as it was. Rodriguez didn't take it and do his own thing because Miller was the one that did it. And spirit looks just like Sin City because of Millers style. People like you say spirit is a copy when its millers style in the first place. So hes copying himself? Hes copying the signature style he created himself in comics and graphic novels? Believe me read anything Frank Miller did and you'll see the artistic style of Sin City and Spirit is Frank Millers soley and has nothing to do with Rodriguez.

Instead of remaking it, just restore it and distribute it on Blu-Ray. It will produce more money as well as be a better product than they are likely to come up with.

Ok i'll go paragraph by paragraph,

I never mentioned Art?! I was saying that Sin City is not "his only good film". IT IS A GOOD FILM! Don't get me wrong i love Sin city but i though your statement was too harsh. Sin City IS his most commercial film ( well maybe Once Upon time in Mexico too) in the sense of budget, talent etc.

NOTHING wrong with him making money, as you'll notice i enjoy his work so hell yeah i want him to make money form it.

Spirit comic books don't have the Sin City style. 300 comics don't have the Sin City style. They have their own distinct style and yeah he is copying himself. I this case i dont think its a good thing. Why copy

Sin City stood out from everything else because (like you said) they copied the comics so well, but can you honestly tell me Sin City would be here today without RR? No chance. The amount of crap he had to go through to get Miller to even to talk was ridiculous. Thats why i don't think he deserves as much credit as he got FOR THE FILM! He deserves all credit for writing and art direction but like i said it was RR's talent as a director to bring it to life.

Who do you think was there getting the actors to act? knowing what every piece of green was going to be?

Just a couple of things, if you felt i was attacking you in anyway my apologies, that was not what i was trying to do but don't turn around and stereotype me into "people like you". Like i said i have and love Millers comic work,
