It's funny. I've actually not been to the theatre since I've gone Blu! It's not intentional, though. I guess I've just not cared about the films that came out in the last 6 months...

I went to see "I am Legend" last. I have not been since then. I guess I didn't go much in the first place. I will go in May to see Iron Man for sure.

I believe its similar to how the Arcades died out.
About the time Playstation came out, arcade attendance dropped like dead flies, and when the Playstation 2 came out it was a ghost town.

I think people will always go to theatres for dates and to get out, but when and if HD large panels sell like hotcakes and Blu Ray becomes total mass adoption
I believe theatre sales will drop, but not nearly as bad as the Arcades.

When movie theatre attendance drops then they must increase theatre quality, which is quite crappy in my local area. When I posted my own thread about the quality, it seems to be a 60/40 when it came to quality, still too many theatres have low quality AV or just bad overall experience and costs.

It has stayed the same because i do not go often, However I find I am more willing to wait for some I want to go see so I can see it in all its HD glory, plus it is much cheaper.

Stayed the same. I really only go to the theaters maybe 10 times a year anyway.

'Stayed the same' for me as well. I hit the theater about a dozen to twenty times a year. I know that if you buy a large soda and popcorn the price can be steep, so I normally get either just a small popcorn or small soda and that's it. Personally, I like to support local theaters, I mean, we get to watch $200 million movies for $15. When you think about it, that is quite a good deal.

I think that's probably my thought about it as well...although I probably would have went to see more movies out of desperation if I didn't have over 60 blu-rays calling my name.

Haven't seen a movie in around 6 or 7 months, can't even really remember when it was...

I don't have a BD player yet. I am getting a PS3 waiting to see if they include rumble.

But Blu-ray will not affect my movie going I still want to see movies on a really big screen.

My last 5 years
2003 - 13
2004 - 12
2005 - 11
2006 - 6
2007 - 17 would have seen 1 (RE) more but my theater had a dispute with Sony

I didn't see Bond in theaters should have but still 06 didn't have many movies I liked, and would have seen around 6 more the previous 3 years as if they were this or next would have seen them.

I plan on seeing at least 12 this year already seen 2 might see around 18. I usually try to go the first showing of the day cheaper 5.25 instead of 5.75 day price and $8 for evening, I also buy food or drink less than half the time.

My movie-going attendance has not been affected.

If there's a good movie playing at one of my favorite movie theaters I'll go see it. Then if I liked the movie well enough I'd consider buying it months later when it arrived on DVD, and now Blu-ray Disc.

The last movie I watched at a theater was U23D. Awesome show. Great sound. Great digital 3D.

Not sure what I'll see next at the theater. I guess if I watched something this weekend it might be The Bank Job.

The "big guns" for movie releases will hit theaters in May. Iron Man looks like it will probably be worth watching on the big screen. The new Indiana Jones movie may be worth the drive to Moore, OK to visit the luxurious, new Warren Theaters Moore 14. Definitely watching Wall•E in late June.

i really only go to see the really good ones that i want to see in the theater. i saw vantage point last week with a friend, it was not too bad a movie. before that it was i am legend. some movies i just cant wait to see and have to see them when they come to the theater. there are alot of movies i say i will see, but i end up waiting till they come out on BD or dvd. my blockbuster still only has a small selection of blu's to rent, so i usually watch them on SD dvd for now.

movies i plan on seeing this year at the theater are dark knight for sure, indy 4 and i think there are a few others as well, just cant think of them right now.

Nothing will keep me from going to see Dark Knight, Iron Man, and Indy 4 in the theater...

although, I may try to find a larger screen than our theater here

Stayed the same, I only go to the movies for those films I feel are worthy of watching in the big screen. And it's not that many IMO.

I love my home theater, but I still go out to see promising new releases when they come out to the big screen. Though we have a couple of nice theaters around here, which is a plus.
