Default Starship Troopers and others

Hi, I've seen some copies of Starship Troopers, Company of Wolves, etc. on some Web sites that specialize in obscure and imported titles. My question is are these good quality, hi-def movies?

Thanks.

It may be region free but are you guys in Australia NTSC or PAL?

BTW, they had it planned but then they postponed it indefinitely.

I'm more interested in Company of Wolves. It's a UK release and they're PAL.

Starship Troopers is a great disk. I bought mine off ebay from Australia and it works fine in my PS3.

I was going to create a thread about Starship Troopers earlier, but decided against it. Anyways it was supposed to release here in the US last October, but Sony delayed it. Why, don't know. I hope they aren't waiting until the 3rd movie is ready.

For the dozenth time, PAL and NTSC are NOT AN ISSUE with HiDef material. Providing it is region free,(and this title IS), it will play the same anywhere in the world. Incidentally, Sony own the U.S. rights. Peace.

NTSC/PAL is not a factor with HDM. In the case of Blu-ray, only region coding would be an issue if the disc isn't region-free.

I don't think that its a region free. since both films are distributed by Universal outside the states and canada. Most likely to assume its Region Locked. but i am surprised, i could swear i saw starship troopers in best buy on BD. but i might be wrong.

Starship Troopers will most likely be coming in the U.S. as a promotional tie-in with the upcoming new movie.

Since Sony has delayed Starship Troopers a couple of times, I'm thinking they're going to improve on the transfer and offer more extras... Maybe an exlusive interview with Paul V. on his next movie in America Unfortunately I don't think it would be a sequel to ST though

Disc is a 9/10 for PQ. You can't go wrong. And I quadruplicate what is said earlier, HD is not PAL or NTSC, its HD. All the discs are the same, else how would people in the UK import so many USA titles

Sony is cleaning it up further for the US release, so I'd wait on it. The international version is by DIsney

The UK and Australian releases of blu rays are almost identical expect the cover art on some BDs, im guessing they are changed to fit in the overly oversized and chunky ratings sticker that we have in Australia

They are huge but colourful

I love Starship Troopers on Blu (UK Import/region free). I also have the import of Independence Day (from Japan - EXCELLENT) and The Island (from UK - Great PQ, but the AQ could be improved).

I hope that is true.. (what's the source of your info?)

also if true, i hope it will be remain "all regions"... because i have the UK version, and i really don't rate the PQ at all (AQ ain't that great either)

i'm quite sure this is a VC1 BD25 release, and it suffers badly for it... it just doesn't have any of the 'bling' that in the back of your mind you feel the film should have... certain scenes look great, then other scenes look distinctly average... and towards the end the last 20 minutes or so look particularly poor (dirty is how i would describe it) and honestly no better than the (PAL 576i) SD-DVD i also own
