Yay, I am so excited for this release. It's one of the very few German animated films with high production values specifically for the German market. The animation is good from what I see. It looks almost like a cross between Shrek and the Pixar style. It's almost strange for me to see CGI lip movements that sync with the German dialogue. I hope there will be more in the future.

Before Americans start thinking this is a fairy tale Shrek copy-cat (cough Happily something After), it's not. It's a parody film of "Sissi," an Austrian princess character from a trilogy made in the 50's. The creator (a popular comedian) voices Lissi (he is a man).

Release date: 13 March, 2008

An English audio track is unlikely but subtitles are highly possible.

I blundered upon the trailer for this on the F4:ROTSS German disc, it looks fun, but subs would be a must obviously.

The PQ will be good, no doubt.

But the movie itself will suck big monkey balls...

I don´t like the movies from him...

And hes doing another parodie right now with real people:

(I don´t know if this "cartoon" is known in america)

But please no more Movies...

I was able to watch most of a preview for this film and it is pretty good. The one I saw was very poor in recorded quality but it was enough to let me know that the HD release will (hopefully) look amazing.

Here's a brief synopsis:

A yeti is about to fall to his death but a devil/monster appears and makes a deal with him. The demon will save him but in return he must bring him the most beautiful woman in the land. Somewhere far away lives princess Lissi in her castle. Her family and lover are all interesting/strange characters (very eccentric).

Lissi is kidnapped by the Yeti and the story unfolds from there.

technical specs known so far:
1080P transfer
2.35 aspect ratio
Deutsch subtitles

no word on Englisch subs although that might be highly possible.

It's funny but I know that jokes won't always translate properly with subs or dubs. For the budget that the team had, I think the animation looks very good.

I hope to provide a review of the BD once it comes out.

Will this be region free?
I quite enjoyed "Der Schuh des Manitu" and "(t)Raumschiff Surprise"...
Will be down in good old Germany later this year visiting family, so I might just have to pick this up.

To the Germans on this forum... are there any other german made movies available on blu, or will be released within the next 3 months?

I hope that it is region free. I have picked up other contantin films that were.

The movie was very funny in the theater. Of course, I have seen Sissi and also the Bully sketches...

Yes, it is a comedy animation title. It's going to be released on the 13th. I'm very excited for this. I already have it pre-ordered on Amazon. I'll try to give a review here when I get it.

Yes, this is a sad little comedy spoof with no real humor and a bad way to spend money on.
