I'm not sure if it'll be possible cos, we all know that the 40gb doesn't have the hardware to run the games. It'll run PSone games alright but no PS2 ones.

I would think there would be great hesitation in downloading 4.5 to 7.0 gb games over a internet connection.

an emulator wouldnt be all too difficult to make. but its a ways off yet, theyve got more important things to work on first

I would imagine that a lot of PS2 games don't take up that much space on the disc...

Similar to a PS1 game being available for around 400mb when the disc has 700mb available.

Plus, why fill up your HD with items you can pick up on disc for a deal?

PS2 games (except the very latest) are fairly cheap.

Nice idea, but the execution might be a little tricky. Perhaps they can do it with the smaller games, say 2 gigs and under.

Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Aresenal for the PS2 used all 4.7 GB on its DVD-ROM.

I wouldn't mind being able to download some PS2 games to my HDD. Finding some of the early games like the first two Ratchet and Clank's can be a real challenge. Even though I'd like them on a disc, having them available on my HDD wouldn't be that bad.

could say the same for ps1 games. if i had to venture a guess, we'll be playing ps2 games on psp 2 like we are ps1 games on psp.

not to mention faster load times..mmmm yum

MGS2 subsistance, I checked the pc version that was 7gb, dual layer.

Star Wars StarFighter was 2.7gb I think but I could be off some.

If an emulator wasnt too difficult to make, they would have made one by now

Not really true...there are plenty of things that aren't that difficult that are still yet to be seen.

why would you assume that? it costs money to develop stuff..and ps2 bc isnt a concern right now..or it'd be in all ps3s

Well seeing ps2 emulator development for the pc has told me that its probably really hard.

I think sony's working on it though.

I'm going to say that you won't see any PS2 games on the PSN till they actually stop physically making PS2's and games specifically for it.

PS2 games were no bigger than 4gigs.. aside from some dual layer games..

And I don't think the problem would be downloading it, it would be finding room for alot of games that size.

Fantavision deserves a native 1080p update, but the PS2 game (on CD) wouldn't be very large to download.
