Question Xbox 360 to HDTV via VGA?

Ref: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=42307

All,

Long story short, I may be maxed out on component video and HDMI input to my HDTV. Any experience/thoughts with connecting an Xbox 360 to the HDTV's PC inputs via a VGA cable, and to the AV receiver via a Toslink cable?

I was thinking about something like this from Monoprice. I understand that I'd need to buy the optical cable separately.

Thanks,
Jim / crewzer

Hey man -- Microsoft makes a cable for this very purpose. In fact -- I have one. I bought it when I had my Xbox hooked up to a different TV.

Linky

Bonus -- if your TV accepts a 1080p signal over VGA, you can get a full 1080p resolution from your Xbox.

If you want it -- pm me. We can work out a price and I will send it to you. It's just sitting in my AV odds and ends box right now.

Wow -- I had never seen the Monoprice one before. I don't know about it's quality. But I have the official MS one.

Skrill,

Thanks for the info. I ordered Monoprice's Xbox 360 VGA adpter cable yesterday. We'll see how it works when our older son is home for his summer break.

Thanks again,
Jim / crewzer
