I gotta check this out, watched it last night, but didn't bother with any extras. Aladdin would be sweet.

By the end of this year 4 of 9 Pixar titles will be released on BD (assuming WALL-E is released for the home market in time for the holidays)---I think you'll have a hard time finding another studio with that proportion of output available on this still-maturing format.

Alice in Wonderland is still available and it was released 4 years ago; you'd have to keep your back turned for quite a while to miss out on most Disney titles.

Actually, the B&B and Aladdin clips that appeared in the opening DisneyDVD ad all seem upconverted*, but told ya--
Upconverting both movies from their detailed hi-res IMAX prints still makes them look pretty darn cool in Blu...

(* - Although the clips from "Princess Diaries" and "101D live-action" look like they're taken from hi-def masters...Early preview?)

well i'm not sure what they were, though i'm not talking about the clips in the disney DVD ad. I'm talking about the extended clips you get to see in the D-FILES special feature. Not that these aren't just upconverted...but yeah from Hi-RES IMAX prints probably because these looked good (for all five seconds i got to see them). anyway, i want them

I thought the same exact thing last night when I played it. I want all their Platinum Edition titles on Blu-ray now! All the clips looked amazing, from Snow White to Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin and Cinderella. God, my jaw literally dropped when I saw them.

If BB was upconverted, then Disney did a great job because it look hella pristine.

As for Aladdin, that will not be coming out for a while since that movie and its sequels were just locked up this January.

Slightly off topic: Anyone think Cinderella was beautifully restored? I always thought it was made before Sleeping Beauty until I read otherwise on Wikipedia.

You cannot always trust Wikipedia. Cinderella was 1950, Sleeping Beauty was 1959. As for actual production, Disney always wanted to do Sleeping Beauty but did not have the money or ability to begin it until the mid 1950's. But yeah, Cinderella looked mega good.

Which is actually what the Wiki states on the list of Disney animated theatrical features page as well as the individual entries for Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
