Copy a .wav file from a flash drive. I don't think there's any way to rip them straight to the hard drive without compressing them w/ AAC or MP3.

well if you rip off an actual cd and not like a cd-r it could come out in AAC format which makes the music sound wonderful but you may need to adjust your settings

So rip a CD w/ iTunes as an uncompressed .wav file, transfer that to a flash drive and copy those .wav PCM files to your PS3 and voila! Uncompressed CD audio on your PS3!

Just to clarify, yes, you can copy the CD audio onto your PS3 HDD without losing any quality via the method above, but it will NOT be "lossless" audio as we have come to know it, seeing as the CD was "only" mastered at 44.1/16 to begin with.

It may not be lossless on a technical level, but I think you could achieve it beyond any conceivable doubt by just importing to aac at a ridiculously high bitrate. Something like 256-512 kb/s? At that point, there is simply very little reason the codec would need to throw anything useful out.

I agree.

One of the codecs does allow for a slightly higher bitrate then the others.
