Just picked up the 55a3000 today. Returned my second Samsung DLP for bad geometry in favor of this unit. Hopefully mine is as good as everyone elses experience with these.

Every review I read everyone is just going on and on about how good these are.

this sucks but i was in the sony style store in KOP and the salesman said sony has stopped making rear projection lcd and only makes the flat lcd's. i was bummed b/c i actually like the rear projection lcd's, and whats worse is i said "with the rear lcd projections you can just replace the lamp and have the tv for way long" he looked at me and said "well to be frank these flat lcd's are dispposible after the lights go out in these"

so pay 4000.00 + for a 52" xbr5 just to throw it out??!?!? well i guess that were the warrenty pays off, breaks/dies you get a new one.

No I think he meant the sxrd projection model, sony doesn't carry it anymore so people are finding them hard to come by. Amazon must have some in stock.

I picked mine up in December...got it at One Call for $1200 shipped with a free matching stand...I was exuberant!!!
I love this tv...beautiful after tweaking to perfection.
