I was wondering if anyone here has played a DTS 5.1 Music CD in the PlayStation 3. I just tried for the first time and it shows that their is a music CD in the Playstation and shows all the tracks and times. But when you goto play all I get is snow out of the speakers.
I called SONY and the person that I talked to didnt even know what a DTS Music CD was. Im hoping someone here can shine some light for me. Thanks in advance. cbm371 |

To play DTS Audio/Music CD on PS3:
SETTINGS MUSIC SETTING Audio CD Output Frequency: 44/1/88.2/176.4 kHZ SOUND SETTINGS Audio Output Settings Select (HDMI or Digital Out(Optical) ) which ever one you have. Manual Make sure DTS is Checked Un-Check in this order Uncheck Linear PCM 2 Ch. 176.4 Khz Uncheck Linear PCM 2 Ch. 88.2 Khz Save & Exit Note: the DTS Audo CD's do not like 88.2 Khz / 176.4 Khz When I play SACD I put it back to 88.2 and 176.4 kHZ over HDMI |

Thanks dominica for the help. That worked exactly as you said.
Now with unchecking those 2 PCM's, will it interfere with anything else that I will play? Thanks again a bunch. cbm371 |

Hmm DTS CD's I haven't heard of this before. I do have Dream Theater's Systematic Chaos CD that has a 5.1 track on it, but wow. That must be awesome. I play most of my music through my Zune going through the media dock into my reciever, it somehow is able to come through in 5.1 or simulate it. Sounds awesome at any rate.

The only DTS CD I have is James Horner's Titanic and that thing went out of print FAST! But I am glad someone knew how to fix this. I tried playing it once and my reciever (or my PS3, not sure which) didn't like me very much after that...
