Default Panasonic TC-32LX700

So this is my TV of choice ATM, one of the best (if not the best) LCD tv's I've seen under 37 inches. I'm very happy with it, and after some calibration by eye, the picture couldn't be better. I was just wondering if anyone knew the average retail on it in the US. (I'm Canadian, eh) and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a setup for backlighting it (pref. red to match my red and black room design)

Also just wanted to gush a little about my $999.99 baby! The in pane switching is a great technology, something I had never actually seen in an LCD until this last year. As well, Panasonic, as we all know, makes some great TVs with rather true color and this one is no exception. Where the Sony 32 inch LCDs seem a bit washed out and the Samsung and Sharp seem a bit overdone, this bad boy falls right in the middle (I like to call it perfection). The stock speakers left a lot to the imagination but that was easily corrected all in all a great television!!

I've got one. Love it. The only LCD I've ever seen that has basically zero viewing angle issues. colors are excellent, great black levels for an LCD, and it has the most natural looking 120hz implementation I've seen. Which is to say, I have yet to notice any wierd and un-natural side effects like things look "too smooth" or "Like a home video".

I think MSRP was $1100. I payed $750 for it in December + $130 shipping from Newegg.

Not sure though what you mean by backlighting? you mean you want to approximate something like Philips ambilight tech?

Yeah, I should have re-phrased that haha. I meant like a rear ambient light. I've seen a lot of LED light bars and stuff like that and I'm just curious if theres any single one that stands out above the rest.

Have to agree with you on the 120hz... when I would play Assassin's Creed, when you do the counter-kills and the movement is all very fast, thats when I expected to see some weird effects, but it just kept it looking as smooth as on my friend's plasma
