Default No Country For Old Men (Your Thoughts)

First off, I am glad I purchased the Blu-ray version of this movie (though, I have not seen it on SD-DVD) after all the reviews I have read and praise regarding is picture quality. I never knew of this particular movie until it was mentioned here in this forum, however, after watching it, I must concur as to the overall conclusion that it definitely has by far, the best picture quality if not, among the others. Second, I am usually not a fan of "western" style movies, but I definitely enjoyed "No Country For Old Men!"

What are your thoughts?

I liked it.

I'm glad I bought it.

It's fairly violent but it's worth it.

I didn't care much for it. I won't be watching it again even on the free movie channels.

I'm in the middle of watching it right now. Bathroom/check pm's break. It's one of the best for clear picture quality and having just moved from Amarillo Texas they really got the large/wide landscapes captured properly. I am enjoying the cat and mouse quality of the plot and the one thing I like the most, it is not predictable. Write more later.

its a very slow running movie, very well acted but I am sure alot of people would be bored by it. However, I actually enjoyed the movie and I am not a huge fan of Tommy Lee Jones (who just seems to play himself on every movie).

Like most Coen Brothers movies, very out of the normal box. I thought it was an interesting story but nothing I'd want to see more then once or if I had company come over I'd probably pick something else out first if given a choice.

After a slow patch, the Coen Bros. pulled another doozy out of the hat. Now if only O Brother Where Out Thou,(I think that's the spelling), would make an appearance in HD.

Cool

I really Liked the first 3/4 of the movie, but the rest just didn't do it for me.

I thought this movie was amazing. I saw it in theaters and just couldn't wait to get it on dvd. I actually bought this movie on BD before i had a BD player. I must say that it's because of that movie that I now have a PS3.

I thought it had great PQ, great acting with a great cast. Well worth the buy, esp on Blu-Ray. At first I like the movie up to 1hr and 40 min, with the last 20 min, being a downer, then i read that the movies main goal was not about the two characters played by Javier Barden and Josh Brolin that you see throughout most of the movie, but about Tommy Lee Jones character and how the world changes around him, and thus the movie made more sense.

It is easily one of the best movies that came out of 2007. It gets even better on repeat viewings. The Blu-ray is stunning .

There was a short extra on the disc that mentioned TLJ's charecter being the main. I think that helped it make a little more sense.

I posted before that this movie for me was a one time view (no matter the PQ). The story to me is just not worth repeated viewing.

It was okay, but not much more.

this movie had me interested for the most part. the plot line and acting is suberb, but the last 20 minutes or so completely ruined the movie in my eyes. i realize what the ending and movie was trying to accomplish, but ti just did not do it for me.

i think there will be blood or atonement should have won the oscar rather then this. those were both very good movies.

Yes, same here, after finding out the movie was about TLJ's character, everything made more sense, and i was less pissed about the ending. Will deff be a to watch over and over again... Friendo.
