Default Elitist Jerks vs. FNGs

i thought Forums was for ppl to share info of similar taste with knowledgable and well thought-out opinions, not badger and criticize NEwbs threads.
There's alot of NEwbs joining every month but even the guys with 3k post where once FNG's (F*$%ing New Guys).
Forums by nature are very repetitious, its the same questions being asked over-and-over again. Finding the answer for a specific problem is, most of the time, buried in countless thread.

Be patient Elitist Jerks, u also were an FNG once.

*Hey Moderators make this a Sticky

but why most people keep asking "if this movie is coming to blu-ray?".....if its not listed in the movies link at the top of the page titled, "movies" then its not announced yet.....and more likely the answer is yes, one day.....just like it did on VHS, LaserDisc, and DVD.........this is just sample of a bad thread, but I welcome all new members and knowledge they bring.....as long as these threads stop....they can open any thread they want......lol

Well I'm an FNG but I do have the ability to do some research for release dates on my own. I also know how to use the search tools on here for the forum (learned first day without getting yelled at) so I don't get the wrath of some wannabe moderator. But......everyone is different (countries, education level, age, internet capability, etc) so be patient with newbies folks. With blu-ray finally being the end all be all, there will be ALOT of new people coming here for "your" advice.

So stop yelling at me......I'm gonna go cry myself to sleep in my huge pillow. Anyone know where I stole that line from?

All I can think of is Waiting... but it wasn't "huge" that described the pillow.

It is from "So I Married an Exe Murderer". Great lines from Michael Myers as an old Irishman describing his grandson's big head.

"Head- remote, quickly." "You're going to give him a complex. How is he gonna sleep at night." "On a giant pillow!"

That's it, and his fathers character was Scottish, not Irish.

Some great lines.

I just ignore the "when is this movie coming out" threads..... no biggie.... just ignore it.... no need to throw nasty comments around, and when someone asks "can you recommend a good HTIB/SUB/T.V." or "is the PS3 a good Blu Player" etc.... I just give a quick answer with a suggestion, and also try to provide a link to an older thread with the same info, or let them know they're out there..... the

"You're the first one to ask that "

Replies don't help anyone..... just bumps the thread to the top so some other A-Hole can make a similar comment........

You're right, because he wanted Haggis (which is actually pretty good once you get past what it is).

I agree that it is a huge turnoff when members with 1000+ posts or whatever or a longer amount of time spent here think they are better and know more than those with fewer posts and that they can just bash them and that's gonna fix things. "OMG this has been asked 347 times today. Search you f'ng newb!" I think that would keep the OP from coming back and contributing again instead of making him search next time. This is a community and I bet it's turning off a lot of new people. People always cite 'those' other boards where flaming and fighting go on, yet it is creeping in here as well. Do we want this becoming one of 'those' boards? There is SO much activity at this place that if there were no responses to questions that have been asked a dozen times already that week, the thread would be off the front page in an hour. Sure the mods could lock them and they'd pass by quicker, but they have jobs, they do this for free. Just don't respond if you have nothing helpful to say. And posting "I dunno" as a response to a question doesn't help either, except to pad post counts. I haven't been here that long or have a ton of posts but I do visit everyday and contribute when I have something to say that I think could be helpful. So does that make me also a "f'ing newb"?

Hey I'm a newbie too. Yesterday I was called a retard because i missed part of a title. I appreciate all the great input here from most. As far as the nasty people here and they know who they are, I guess they have nothing better to do. I told this person in a PM that most people that are nasty with others online would never say what they do to someones face because there would more than likely be repurcussions. I think that's why they feel they can be nasty.
Just my two cents. When people are nasty, just consider the source.

Look at the size of that thing. It's like an orange on a toothpick. It's got it's own weather system.
