Default onkyo 605 frustration

i was able to set up the onkyo605with ps3 succesfullyfor a little bit,but after i shut the ps3 down,unplugged receiver and speakers from outlet,i come back a few hours later and still at this moment when i turn the reciever on it detects the ps3 and strats to go on but then just makes a pop and goes back to standby mode?Any suggestions as to what's going on?

sounds like one of your speakers may be plugged in incorrectly. Make sure no strands or speaker wire are touching one another, and make sure positive is to positive and negative to negative.

I agree, sounds like you have some sort of connection turning on the protection. You may also want to look for anything else that could be causing it, I have seen RCA cables coming from powered up devices touch the back and it will switch to standy.

Looked over it and was able to find the strand of wire that was touching the back of the reciever and now all is back to normal.thanks for the help.
