Default XBR4 brightness level - question w/DVE

HI all -

the test pattern for brightness on DVE HD Basics shows three bars to to left/right of gray scale area. however - on my xbr4, at maximum brightness, there are only two.

it seems the set clips such that the blacker than black bar does not appear at all.

is this normal for this set?

i've tried removing the receiver from the equation and running the ps3 HDMI directly into the set with no change.

thanks

got it. need to set output of PS3 for BD/DVD to Y Pb/CB Pr/Cr from RGB.

Wonder if "Automatic setting" will choose RGB for games and the other for movies.

anyone know?

Yes, I believe Automatic will select RGB for games and Y Pb/CB Pr/Cr for BD/DVD's. I use Automatic.
