Each electronic sell-through, he observed, produces $13-14 in profits for a studio versus about $10 for a DVD. He also noted that with improved quality of product available online, including high-definition downloads, the competition from camcorded bootleg movies has lessened. Online piracy, he indicated, had "flattened out" over the past 18 months."
