Default Using Blu-ray as a storage solution for electronic records

Hi,
I am studying records management and am currently in discussion regarding using migration or emulation as a solution to electronic records. I saw your Blu-ray sight and wondered if this is a solution to digital storage of electronic records? I also wondered if the metatdata attached to the digital record could also be stored on the Blu-ray discs? orry if this is a bit vague bue I am still truing to understand completely what is involved with electronic records.
