Default Developing games for the ps3

I have heard reports that developing games for the ps3 is expensive and is taking longer then ever to do. The playstation 2 had a lot of games that weren't as good as they could have been. With the playstation 3, I'm wondering if we will see any games in the future that will fall in the 1 to 5 score range on a scale of 1 to 10. I have also heard reports that some companies are asking Sony for help with their games because the company doesn't know how to take advantage of the hardware fully. Some people think that developing for a $600 console is too much, but that Sony doesn't seem to care about that since they have already sold 1 million consoles by the end of 2006. The playstation 3 is only going to do well if there are good games for it.
