Default I'm new here... LG's any good?

Hello all, I'm new here and i was wondering how does my LG DLP Projection TV, Model # RU-52SZ51D stack up with the other DLP televisions? I've had it for over 3 years now and my warranty from best buy has now expired... Are there any unforseen problems i should expect?

I love it and shows great but its 1080i and i'm planning on buying my first blu ray player which i know is 1080p. Any players to stay away from?

Thanks for any advice in advance...

Maybe as not many have LG TVs. I think I would try to find some online reviews. I do have a LG plasma one but it is over 3 years old now and not that great. Whenever I watch my friends Series 6 Samsung, I just want to go shopping for a new TV.

But I can not comment on their current line, i have never watched one

I love my 37" LG LCD. It is also getting a bit outdated and is 1080i, but that shouldn't really make a difference. There is no visible difference between deinterlaced 1080i or 1080p output from a BD player.

I always do an incredible amount of research on anything that I buy, so it seemed like a great brand at the time and I totally agree now that I own an LG. I am absolutely blown away by Blu-Ray movies, not a little, but absolutely. I recently got a Sony BDP-S350 BD player and I am stunned every time I play a BD. I think you'll be highly impressed with Blu-Ray with what you have.

Thumbs up Panny

My 2 year old Panasonic Plasma is still kicking-ass to my newer Visio LCD's. I would buy another one.

Next in decending order:
Sharp
Samsung
Sony
Pioneer
LG

I never heard anything bad about Panasonic or Sharp. On the opposite end of the equation, I have never heard anything at-all about LG.

I suggest looking at the LG 60PG60. I have my blu ray hooked up to that going 1080p/24 and it looks three dimensional. Nice THX setting for movies if you don't want to pay for professional calibration. Highly suggested.

I have the LG 50PC3D plasma. I've had it for over 2 years and it is still a great tv without problems or issues.
I would still buy an LG today but there are other great tv's out there.

Your LG is 720P, I don't think I've ever seen a 1080i LCD; they are ether 720P or 1080P.
