Default Recording from a VHS to a DVD recorder

I got this Toshiba VCR/DVD combo recorder going through HDMI.

DVD recorder records TV fine and VCR records TV fine.

But is there a way to use the DVD recorder to record a VHS tape on the same player?

Thanks.

I may be wrong but here goes! Play VHS hit DUBBING button it will ask VCR to DVD. HIT yes, When done hit stop. Wait and hit Setup. Find and hit finalize (spelling?)

Keep in mind that DVD's you have recorded and did not finalize will not play on another player! Finalize everything!

Keep in mind that any tape recorded with Macrovision will refuse to copy (most studio commercial tapes)

You did'nt here this from me, if you hook up a pre-1980 VCR to your recorder you can get around Macrovision!

Good point. Q is how to find pre-1980 VCR. Just do a google search. You could find plenty of video stabilizer boxes that would enable connecting other video devices through a VCR.
