Default In need of a new Sound System with some Restrictions

So Im trying to push getting a new sound setup going for my downstairs TV room. We have the Bose 3-2-1 system right now with our 46" Sony XBR LCD with the PS3 hooked up to it. My question is what would be the best setup for fairly small room, which no rear speakers can wired through the walls. Is there any kind of good Rear wireless speakers or are those just crap? Ive read a few things here and there about the sound setups people have and am pretty blown away by them since they are pretty awesome. So any help would be great, price range would be around a $1,000. BTW I don't know much about sound or the setups, all I know is I want the true High Def. Experience with the the uncompressed audio everyone rants about.
