Angry Surge Protecter Buzzing

I heard a weird sound coming from my living room which woke me up last night. I thought something was going to blow-up. I soon realize that it was my Surge Protecter making that sound, it sounded like an angry bee ive. Have anybody ever experienced anything like that with their Surge Protecter? Buying a new one right now would cut into my Bluray budget. The one i curretly have is one of those real expensive ones from Monster i brought it many moons ago.

I have a monster 5100 and the same thing happened to mine after i had it for about 3 years , i called monster to find it has a 5 year warranty all i had to do was ship it back and they sent me a brand new sealed unit . The new unit took less than a week to get , call monster and they stand behind thier equipment . Good luck to you .

Call monster tech support as the previous reply said. I would almost recommend purchasing a cheap one as a temporary solution until you get the replacement. That way there's no problem during the downtime without it.

Also on their cables and wire. They just replaced my expensive speaker cables I bought in 01 as the rubber boots were cracking due to either heat or moisture. Didn't effect sound, just bothered me they were doing that. Mine was heat. Sent me out a brand new pair, and a shipping label to send back the old one. Bravo

Good thing, sounds like it took the hit instead of your equip. Lightning, brown outs, dirty power. All very nasty.

My brand new monster power center did the same thing the other night; it was buzzing like crazy. I unplugged it for a while, plugged it back in, and it started acting normal again. Very strange.
