Default War movies for June 3....if I had to choose...

With the recent announcement of Cloverfield and TWBB for June 3, and a couple other ones I want to get that day, I'll have left in my budget for that week for 2 of the 5 war movies hitting blu-ray.

What are your recommendations if I can only choose 2?

Patton
A Bridge Too Far
Battle of Britain
Sand Pebbles
The Longest Day

Thanks! Did a search for "war movies" but didn't find anything here.

Believe me I've considered it...haven't seen any of the Dirty Harry movies, either, and am on the fence about adding those to the mix.

I'll get all of them eventually - but personally, I says Patton and A Bridge Too Far. That week will wreck me, what with Signs and Cloverfield on the same day.

A movie does not get "better" just for being released on BD. So I'm going to get Patton and A bridge too far. Battle of britain is not a very good film.

Sorry people.

But hope the next batch of war movies is released I hope they will bring out "where eagles dare".

Same 2 titles for me. That week is going to be an expensive one with all the other stuff I have pre-ordered. Patton and A Bridge Too Far are the best of the 5 IMO, but I'll be getting them all eventually, just buying them in less heavy weeks

Hopefully we will see The Great Escape sometime soon also. That one will be a definite double-dip for me.

Definetly with you on that one. Where Eagles Dare is one of my favorites.

I agree with the posts above PAtton and ABTF are the best two, but I am getting all of them. I have not seen those films in a long time, so waiting is not an option.

What the heck is TWBB? There's too many acronyms anymore

EDIT: After searching, I found out what it was(There Will Be Blood). It just wasn't an obvious acronym at all.

Patton and A Bridge too Far with the understanding that both are somewhat atypical war movies if you have not seen them. The Longest Day is next followed by Battle of Britain. I have to find a way to get these four. As to Where Eagles Dare- it is excellent, but the Germans speak English which is a pet peeve of mine (some people don't care). As to unannounced I say bring on the five hour Das Boot and Saving Private Ryan.
