has anyone seen the film on blu ray if so how was the pq on the film thinking of buying it but wanted to know how good the pq was before i brought it

I've seen it on HD-DVD its not released in Blu-ray yet this is as far as i know. otherwise i would have bought it in blu-ray but never found it.

It was released on Blu-ray in Germany. From what I understand it looks and sound pretty good, however I was never a fan of this movie thus the reason why I didn't import it.

It's in German , but you can pick out the scores for PQ and AQ. The review states that this is Region B, which contradicts other sources on encoding. You may want to double check either way.

I used an online translator (always good for a giggle) - here is what it came up with:

"12 Monkeys had already on DVD permanently with quality deficiencies to fight. Always is not considered at the same time also that a part of the "deficiencies" are to be led back especially to stylistic device. That wanted serve washed out, harsh Touch and the paled colors as an expression of the "realities". Under that the picture depth suffers naturally. But also in addition the detail sharpness unessential more highly fell out for example than on DVD. This and the intentional lack of picture depth lead in addition that one gets a not really HD just picture. A filter use would be a possible explanation for that, also for the slight grain and Bildrauschen. Much more probable however is that it represents a consequence of the reduced bit rate vis-à-vis the HD DVD. Necessary this became because the overlong film otherwise not would have fit on a BD25. Nevertheless can be recognized in some details unaccustomed to few Close Ups so that one is not disappointed by the HD quality completely. That one however to the larger BD50 grasped has not around just in this difficult film more reserves to have, is disgracefully."
