I just rented this movie and it is my first blu ray. Watching it on my new PS3. I seen this a while back on DVD and there were tons of special features like gag real and deleted scenes. I can't find them on the blue ray. It doesn't seem theres a menu like DVD's but rather just that pop up menu that apears on the bottom and I can just choose select a scene or audio options, etc... Dont' see anythign for bonus features. Am I not finding the right menu, or did they not put those on the blu ray format? If they didn't thats kinda disapointing....

If the disc is 25GB and MPEG-2, most people would prefer the space to be given to the feature rather than merely copied SD extras.
And SD extras will be disappointing to many. As time goes on and the 50GB discs become the common release, there will be lots of extras on releases, and in HD. Gary |

So theres no bonus features on any blu ray discs becuase the space is needed for the movie?

That is only part of the reason, it is also likely that the studio will want to double-dip, with a 'Special Edition' which will include all of the extras currently on the DVD, and hopefully they will be in HD.

I wasn't really impressed with the movie itself anyway, as far as clarity goes. Just watching HD channels on cable looks alot better to me. Might just be becuase its a older movie.

This disc is probably the worst looking disc I own. The image is no sharper than an upconverted DVD, and only the colors benefit from the HD encoding (which can really pop). The PCM audio destroys the DVD in every way though.
And yes, there are no extras (which actually had a total length much greater than the film itself). |

My TV is also only 720p. So maybe I won't see the full effects as a 1080p screen when I watch these higher tier movies. *shrug. Its a 50" plasma.

Yes, there are extras on 25GB and 50GB Blu-ray discs (not all obviously...you have one that doesn't have them). Try Crank, Tears of the Sun, The Covenant, Corpse Bride, etc. It will say on the back of the disc if they do have extras.

So I think I may know why I wasn't impressed with the picture of this movie at all. After reading some more posts here I see that PS3 will not play a bluray movie in 720p that it downscales it to 480p. My TV is 720p, so that may be the issue. I'll have to go into the PS3 menu and see if I can change it to 1080i and watch another movie.
