HD VideoCam recordings > Bad! / strange image

Hi you all,

I have a Sony HD videocamera and when I connect the Cam with a HD component cable directly to the Plasma or LCD the image on the Television is extremely good and sharp.

But.... when I connect my Cam to my PC and import all the recordings to my harddisk on my PC, and then select the video-recordings to be burned on to a DVD with the help of my normal DVD burner the DVD is indeed burn.
But when I finally put the DVD in my DVD player and view it on my Plasma television the image is really really bad, unsharp and it's like all the pixels are stretched out horizontally / vertically.
You can compare it to a digital picture when you zoom in a big zoom, when you do that you will start seeing the pixels one by one.
