I am looking at buying this system but I wanted to see if anyone on here has it first, I don't trust the ratings on circuit citys website I would rather know what people on this website think about it. So if anyone has it let me know what you think about it.

Thanks in advance

it is passthrough. (I would not buy it, no HD audio)

You would need the 908...but all that is, is the 605 with onkyo brand speakers.

You would be better off just buying the 605 and your own preference of speakers.

The 908 isnt bad at all, the speakers sound great for someone who wants the easy way out, and you can sell the upscaling DVD player on ebay and get some of your money back. The 908 is also on sale quite often. Not a bad direction to go at all.
