Default Book of Secrets Defective?

I am beyond pissed off. Looks like I've encountered my first faulty blu-ray disk. Minus the Pirates of the Caribbean. That wasn't so bad though. My disk stops playing during the library of congress section. Also skips throughout the Helen Mirren scene thereafter. I ordered it from Amazon should I contact them or Disney? I've searched the internet for the same defect but came up short.

Maybe you just have a bad disk I have read of a couple of people having problems watching the special features in their profile 1 player. But, this is the first I read about a problem with the movie itself.

Ya it's definitely the disk. National Treasure played perfectly. Book of Secrets is a complete letdown. I wish I didn't get it from Amazon....If I picked it up @ Best Buy I could have easily exchanged it.

If you haven't done so already, the first thing I'd do is inspect the disc to see if there any smudges or scratches or whatever. If you see any smudges, wipe them off. If not, I"d go through Amazon to have it replaced (i.e. I think it'll be faster to go through Amazon).

I had my Die Hard collection damaged by dogs, because UPS left the package outside the fence. I contacted Amazon, and they shipped me a replacement via next day service at no charge. They just asked me to return the damaged merchandise within 30 days. They provided a return label and everything worked out great.

I'll check it over but I feel it's impossible. I took it out of the shrinkwrap and it went directly into my ps3. Just got it this afternoon.

Amazon are really good about returns. I had to replace my Harry Potter 4 disc through them for essentially the same reason. Lots of freeze ups and skipping throughout the movie. Was a pretty darn painless process.

Does anybody know why Netflix discontinued National Treasure - Book of Secrets? (see note below from Netflix)

Not impossible. When I took Saw IV out of the brand new package, it had a huge goobery fingerprint on the sweet surface that made it unplayable. There may even be dirt you can't see, so try cleaning it, even if it doesn't look dirty.

I just checked my queue and they still have it listed there as a very long wait and it is still listed on the sight. I would just try to re-add the movie to your queue.

Clean it....try again.....make sure your player has latest firmware update.....if you've done all this and you still have a problem.....return the disc and exchange for a new one.

Alright, so I went your advice and took it out for cleaning. First time I'm looking @ the bottom of the disk. There appears to be a blemish inside the protective coating. I guess that's the problem.

I watched it last night and had no problems with anything. I was able to skip thru the movie trailors and had no tech problems while playing the movie. It looked and sounded great. I am using a Sony BDP S1. I don't recall what firmware I'm at but I do know I am behind in the upgrades.
