I will purchase this game as soon as this patch comes out! Who knows? I might like the sixaxis controls but I was a bit peeved at Factor5 for not giving the players the choice of analogue controls from day one. Plus, every single game I have tried to play so far using sixaxis I have hated.

Hopefully it improves the gameplay a lot. The big complaints in the game were finicky controls, inability to correctly target (and horrid lock-on), and mystifying mission objectives.
This update looks to fix at least two of the three. We'll see if we get a secret fix for the mission objective problem. |

I bought the game at launch, and I'm probably half way through using the traditional control scheme. For me, it's just been a case of too many games and too little time.
I think the biggest area of improvement needed is with the targeting mechanics. I often end up locked onto an enemy that's nowhere in range while the enemy I wanted is right next to me. I hope the updated targeting scheme helps sort that out. I like the current control scheme, but it does take a while to adjust to fully using Sixaxis to control. There's definitely been some levels where having traditional analog controls would have made it easier. I'll probably give the regular analog controls a try to see if the gameplay improves substantially, but barring a huge leap I'll stick with Sixaxis. It's a dragon after all. |

It is now official.
Factor 5's Lair is getting a update. the game will finally support analog controls. The patch, coming out everywhere (Japan, Europe, and America) on April 17, also includes DualShock 3 rumble support, the appearance of a targeting icon and the ability to download the Wind Dragon and Poison Dragon for use in all stages. My question to you guys is will it make the game better??? Source Article Link Below: http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/10/up...alog-controls/ |

I would highly doubt anyone will re-review it. Most game reviewers only ever review what you get at retail since not everyone has the internet so not everybody can get the update.

Thats true.
BUT im sure if they consider it to be a HUGE improvement them some sites/magazines might make a note of it. So the date has been set then? Man next week is a GREAT week for PS3 updates. Now I can enjoy the new-and-improved LAIR the same weekend I move into my new house! |
