Default According to posters LAIR controls MUCH better after 1.92 update

http://ps3forums.com/showthread.php?t=96410

I cant vouch for this as I dont have the game - anyone here notice any differences?

I just cleared a couple more missions in Lair. Am now on the final mission.

Can't say for sure that it's any easier; the controller lag seems a bit better, but that might be placebo effect. I think most of it is just me getting better at the controls, and resigning myself to occasionally flying past designated targets...

Whats people's problem with LAIR's controls? They work perfectly in my opinion. ...I love them.

Screw reviewers.

Then they must have changed motion sensor across all games. They can't patch a game unless it was downloaded from the game itself.

I was planning on playing more tonight so I'll see how it is. Maybe I'll reply the spotlight mission.

Glutton for punishment, are we? I think that's the last one I'll go for medals on. It's by far the most painful and annoying mission in the entire game.

Well I didn't replay that mission, I replayed the spider wasp mission, since I had died on that mission last. I can't say I noticed any huge difference, maybe a slight one but that was probably just me getting better at the game naturally.

well you are one in just a handful if you can fly that dragon perfectly. read some of the posts in the larger LAIR thread. it is not just reviewers that think the controls are bad...it is your peers as well.

A good friend of mine is coming into town on Friday. He's brining LAIR (My new PS3 comes tomorrow woot!).

He likes the game. The reviews are all junk.

Maybe if Lair was a typical 1st-person shooter, it would have received all 9s.

I'm told that the controls just take some time and eventually you get used to them. Reminds me of any real racing sim.

I got the game... I want to love this game.. it is alright but the controls are a bit off... The graphics are alright but not mind blowing by any means... and there are way too many cut scenes.. the voice acting is bad as well..

I wish there was more ground combat as well.. and not all levels timed.. you could have some just be able to go all over... the flying since it is a majority of the game is decent but again the controls are a bit off... which really hurts since you are doing that the majority of the time.. needs a radar bad... the reasioning to not include it is weak.. I beleive it was something like there was no radar technology in that era.. so I guess there was floating arrow pointing technology?

According to Sony's website, the latest update only fixed backwards compatibility with select titles. It also includes all previous updates for those who just bought a 60GB PS3.

Warhawk controls have not been altered. It's the cobination of Placebo and users either getting better at itor just living with it.

As a Wii user, I can see core gamer fustration with motion controls, but when you break the relatively short learning curve (It's not like you have an easy time learning controls for a standard controller expecially if their complex, such as fighting games), it becomes a part of your body, alowing for more interactive and engaging expereince. Though Warhawk looks kinda lame to me. I guess you can't expect good motion controls from companies other than Nintendo.

Where are these uninformed new users coming from?

takezo - this thread is on LAIR not warhawk. I have both games, as well as a Wii, and I can tell you it has nothing to do with the technology, but the game itself. Warhawk uses great precise six axis motion technology, but for whatever reason LAIR is just a bit off.

Wii leading the technology in any department is humourous to say the least. They have some good motion controls, but there are a couple games that are off and mini games as well. I know, I got them and use them. The whole balancing your stick on your hand in Wario does not work and takes time to let the Wii see the difference for instance...

Escalus - LAIR is already out, there is no online multiplayer, you could easily find this out for yourself with any review site or looking at the box, but there is an online point and award sharing/ranking capability. This allows you to see where your scores compare to everyone in the world, or even just those on your friend list. Lame, I know, but it is the generic online capability that even most "online" 360 games sport...

The youtube movies clearly prove that after 1.92 it is more responsive. Did I notice it in my gameplay, maybe a little, but it clearly made an improvement. The never tell you everything the firmware fixed. It's also known that 1.92 sped up XMB access and the browser.

Sorry just at work and should have said more... I have rented this game first before I buy, I just find that you can get something that looks fantastic and when it comes out and u play it, it sucks. But I have played Lair and I actually have been having a lot of fun with it. I guess what I was more looking for will it be able to be an online game in the future?

I think it would be great to play online, fighting other folks. I like some games to just play, eventually you beat the game tho. Coming from computer based online games Like Everquest, Quake 2, ect. I really enjoyed leveling up getting new shinny's playing against someone that has there own tactics, was just wondering if there is a future of this game being an online game or will it ever be an online game that is all.
